AlpEko - Questions and Answers

Surfactants are substances that improve the cleaning power of a product; they are molecules that have a hydrophilic part, which binds with water (this part is called anionic if negatively charged, cationic, if positively charged, non-ionic, if it has no electrical charge, amphoteric, if it changes charge depending on the liquid with which it binds) and a part that mixes instead with fatty substances.

The characteristics of a surfactant are thus to emulsify, mix liquids together, cleanse, 'lather'; binding to dirt - the grease or oil on the surface of the hob, for example - favouring its ultimate removal.

These substances are also used in cosmetics, in facial cleansers to deep clean the skin, in bubble baths and shower gels, in various types of shampoo.

Alpeko LAB has chosen to use surfactants of vegetable origin, 100% natural. Surfactants of fossil (petroleum) origin are therefore excluded.

Natural surfactants are plant-derived products, e.g. from oil or coconut palms, wheat or other fat-rich plant life. Surfactants can be anionic, cationic, non-ionic and amphoteric.

Since 2017, the Alpeko laboratory has been producing environmentally friendly surface cleaners. Unlike large industries, which base their economy on large numbers, Alpeko is a craft workshop, where high-quality detergents are created.

We mix the best raw materials of natural origin, with essences and fragrances inspired by the mountains, with water treated microbiologically with a reverse osmosis and UV purification plant, in order to reduce preservative additives to a minimum, and to guarantee a high standard of quality in our formulas.

Our production batches start from 100 kg upwards, so we guarantee the customer a fresh product, prepared no more than 10 days before delivery.

In the research and innovation phase, Alpeko wanted to find a packagin with reduced environmental impact, in order to reduce CO2 emissions and breathe new life into its packaging. In addition to the fully recyclable 500 ml PET packaging, our company wanted to outdo itself with the 3 l BAG IN BOX. This packaging makes it possible to reduce plastic by 80%, and to have an impact on the price list, with a saving of well over 35% on the price of bottles.

Our advice is to keep the 500 ml bottles with labels! In this way, for future purchases you can choose the Bag in Box, which with its convenient tap allows you to refill the bottles you have stored. Save on price, reduce packaging!
